The Humane Society of the United States has done some incredible work over the years, not the least of which includes saving hundreds of animals during the Hurricane Katrina aftermath. As a fundraiser to continue their work, they are holding an Art for Animals auction event online and offline including well-known artists: Dali, Chagall, Warhol, Picasso, Erickson, Grillo, Berggruen and De Kooning. Photographers are also participating.
The online auction ends tomorrow and the live and in-person silent auction will take place at the Weinstein Gallery, 301 Geary Street (@ Powell) Wednesday night from 6-8:30pm in San Francisco. To attend in person (space is limited), email rsvp(at)humanesociety.org for a $75 ticket or pay $100 at the door. Bid now and you might save a puppy or kitten.
