I love this time of year! The crisp fall air, trees dropping colorful leaves, and this week the whole world seems to be on sale at 30-40% off. In fact, this seems to be *the week* for designer handbags. Genie at Nieman Marcus gave me heads-up about their pre-sale on Tuesday, but by the time I straggled in, pickings were already slim.
So in case you didn't make it to opening day at the stores either, there's still a nice selection online. Here are a few links to some of the best bag sales on the web:
* Saks has a big, fabulous selection of designer handbags and *boots* galore - including Christian Louboutin, Jimmy Choo, Prada, Dior, and Dolce Gabbana. (This was a great season for boots, and there's still plenty of time to wear them!) Use promo code RUSHNOW for free express shipping.
* Neiman Marcus has styles from Prada, Miu Miu, Dolce, Marc Jacobs, Stella McCartney, Loro Piana (hard to find - I love this one!), Dior, and many others. I notice more styles were just added. Also check out their cashmere sweaters! Shipping and gift wrap are free.
* Net-a-Porter - one of my favorite online-only retailers. Check out the Bottega Veneta hobos, Miu Miu Coffer bags, some great Marc Jacobs chain bags (Ines is my fave), Chloe, Fendi, and Marni, plus jewelry and great clothes. There's a (reasonable) charge for shipping, but no sales tax.
* Barneys New York - I often forget to look at Barneys for bags, but this is *the* place to go for Lanvin. Also, their store-label bags are chic and surprisingly affordable, especially on sale!
I was lucky enough to find myself at the Barney's sale before it officially started. Burberry is also having a sale.

I really like the Barneys "Military Documents" bag - what a funny name, but, hey, my life could probably use a little more intrigue these days. ;-)
