Breaking into the fashion industry can be pretty tough – especially for high schoolers – but the Art Institute wants to help. High schoolers can enter in the Art Institutes' Passion for Fashion Competition 2010 for a chance to win a glimpse into the highly competitive fashion industry.
There are two categories: fashion design, and fashion marketing, merchandising and retail management. Students interested in fashion design can enter the contest by creating an original evening wear design, and students interested in the retail/marketing side of things must create an original marketing, merchandising or retail management plan for the corresponding category.
The grand prize for winning the competition gets winners more than just a glimpse into the fashion industry. A full tuition scholarship to an Art Institutes school to study fashion, a trip to New York City to attend a Fashion Week fashion show, a $500 shopping spree, a meet-and-greet event at Seventeen magazine’s office, and a lunch with a Seventeen magazine style pro.
That prize makes me wish I were in high school again. The contest is open to high school seniors all across North America set to graduate in 2010 with a minimum cumulative G.P.A of 2.0. The deadline is November 20.
